On June 22, 2020, President Trump suspended entry for H-1B, H-2B, J-1 and L-1 temporary workers. The ban is effective immediately and will extend through December 31, 2020.
It applies only to workers who are currently abroad and do not possess a valid visa as of June 23, 2020. There are exemptions for workers who are critical to:
The proclamation also extends the ban on immigrant visas for most applicants who are outside of the U.S., originally enacted on April 22, 2020, until the end of the year.
