CAP COUNT FOR H2B NONIMMIGRANTS

CAP COUNT FOR H2B NONIMMIGRANTS – On January 3rd, USCIS released its most recent count of available H2B visas. The current H2B Nonimmigrant Visa cap count for the first half of Fiscal Year 2014 (FY14) currently stands at 12,564 approved visas, with 4,235 visas pending, for a total allocation of 16,799 visas. The number of visas available in the first half of FY14, which runs from October 1, 2013 until March 31,2014 is capped at a total of 33,000 visas. The second half of FY14, which runs from April 1, 2014 until September 30, 2014, will similarly allow a total of 33,000 H2B visas. Any unused numbers from the first half of the fiscal year will be made available to petitioners during the second half of the fiscal year.
