Lawsuit Filed Against Trump Administration Over Rule That Strips International Student Visas

Dear Friends, Family, and Clients,

On Monday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released guidelines prohibiting international students from remaining in the U.S. if their coursework is entirely online when classes resume in the fall. While the rules always prohibited online-only courses for international students, ICE relaxed them earlier this year to allow online study during the COVID-19 closures. Although the pandemic is still an issue, the agency is reverting back to the old rule and said that those who violate the rules “may face immigration consequences including, but not limited to, the initiation of removal proceedings.”

On July 8th, 2020, Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration’s plan to require in-person classes for foreign students. The lawsuit seeks a temporary restraining order against the policy, an order vacating the policy, and a declaration that it is unlawful while the country is still in the midst of a pandemic.

Our team at PPID fully supports the legal rights of international students seeking a better future through education in the United States. We have helped countless students from around the world, and we will continue to fight for international students to be here.

Demanda Presentada Contra la Administracion Trump Sombre la Regla que Elimina Visas de Estudiantes Internacionales

Estimados amigos, familiares y clientes,
