Extraordinary Ability
O-1 visas apply to foreign nationals who possess extraordinary abilities in the fields of the sciences, arts, business, education, athletics, or ability in motion pictures and the television industry. This type of non-immigrant visa requires extraordinary ability. The applicant should demonstrate "sustained national or international acclaim." It also requires that the employer file a petition for a non-immigrant worker. Along with the petition, supporting documents showing the evidence of the individual's extraordinary ability should be submitted. The petition should be filed with all the supporting documents at least six months before the start of employment. The dependants of O-1 visa are also permitted to enter the U.S. under O-3 status, but are not eligible for employment. If you feel that you have an extraordinary ability and would like to be considered for an O-1 visa, you should speak with a New York O1 visa lawyer at our firm today.
